What to Bring (or Send) to a Consultation

You do not need to gather documents before the first call. If you want to make the most of an initial consultation, the following help:

• The date and place of marriage
• The full names and dates of birth of any minor children
• A general description of your assets, debts, income, and the other spouse's income
• Any prior court orders -- divorce, paternity, time-sharing, child support, injunctions
• Any prenuptial or postnuptial agreement
• The other party's contact information and, if known, whether the other party is represented
